This company was subcontracted by a larger company (Hercules Moving Solutions) for our move, and it has been horrible so far. At this point our delivery is postponed after what has already been 22 days, and they only send an email update once or twice a week. They don’t respond to emails and don’t take phone calls. I have left voice messages with no return call. Hopefully our belongings arrive eventually, and in decent condition, but I have my doubts based on the way things have went so far.

List bottom half of my $4200.00 china hutch, around 10 totes, over charged. Broken items, very poor communcation, found the bottom half of chuna hutch a couple days after delivery, and just tell me it will be on the next truck going out of Washington State to mid west which was about 2 weeks ago. I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO Anyone a

Worst experience of my life. I will never work with this company. Avoid them at all costs. They work with a broker called New Start Relocation.

Pros:
- They packed our stuff.
- They stored our stuff.
- The first month of storage was free.
- They delivered our stuff with minimal damage.
Cons:
- They are not a moving company. They are a broker pretending to be a moving company.
- They do not accept more conventional forms of payment, such as a 'credit card', even when paying for storage fees.
- They are slow to process storage fee payments, even erroneously stating you are 'late' when they haven't finished processing a payment made weeks ago. To their credit, they were quick to admit fault in this when I brought this error to their attention.
- The cost was exhorbitant.
- The cost for storage was triple what we were originally quoted.
- If you want your stuff delivered on a specific date, they will charge you an additional fee.
- They will charge you if they need to use an elevator when delivering your stuff.
- They will charge you if they have to bring things up more than one flight of stairs, defined by them as 'seven steps', though they wave this fee for single family residences.
- They will charge you a 'long carry fee' if they have to carry things more than 75 feet.
- They will charge a 'shuttle fee' if they cannot park their semi on your street.
- Contacting a human being via phone proved difficult in most cases. Usually, we would call only to receive an immediate text telling us they were 'experiencing a high volume of calls'.
- Getting a straight answer when we were trying to arrange for delivery was impossible. Even for a basic question as simple as 'Can we get an estimate as to when we can expect our items to be delivered', the only answer we would receive was 'We don't have an exact estimate'. Last I was aware, exact estimates are not a thing, that's why they are estimates.
- The 'delivery window' is basically useless. We were told it could take between 2 and 12 days to receive our things after we requested the delivery on 06/17. We were informed the delivery was on the way the afternoon of 06/19. On 06/20 we were told the delivery would arrive within a two hour window (16:00-18:00) on 06/21. The morning of 06/21, we received another text message from the driver (NOT "First Class Movers") stating the delivery would be delayed until 06/22 between 07:00 and 09:00. To their credit, they did meet this second delivery window. This might be fine for most cases, but as I live four hours away from where the delivery dropoff is, it caused us much difficulty.
- Delivery driver was either unwilling or unable to delay delivery to a date more convenient for us. Not their fault, but definitely a significant con in my book.
- Delivery crew consisted of literally one man speaking broken english to unload an entire house's worth of stuff. The 'crew' was a pleasant person, but I'd expect more than one person for handling some of the things we had delivered, as many pieces were quite large and heavy.
The Bottom Line: If you do not care about your time, your money, your things, or getting to reliably communicate with actual human beings, you'll probably have an acceptable experience with this company, but I would still not recommend them to you or to anyone else. I don't know if these sorts of practices are just industry standard or if they are standard practice for this company, but I feel neither case is acceptable.

Disappointed with my experience using First Class Movers. They will lure you in by nice and responsive customer service to make the sale. But they nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING even after you sign on a quote. I waited weeks for my items with no way to find out when they would arrive. I had items arrive damaged and missing. And to top it all off my insurance claim was denied for items they lost in transit. Would not recommend. Other moving companies will quote you higher prices...but honestly there's a reason why you pay more for better service.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They may say that they are the actual movers, but the aren't - THEY ARE A BROKER! The delivery driver confirmed that the company who we first signed up with was not the company who delivered our items.
They quadrupled our price, charged us $900 too much at the time of delivery, and did not adhere to their delivery time, making us sit in the parking lot of our storage unit for 6 hours waiting on them. They use non-English speaking workers to manipulate you. They are rude and predatory. Our savings is gone because of them and we still carry a feeling of being exploited. They made what should have been a fresh, exciting relocation an absolutely miserable move, full of angst. STAY AWAY!!!

This hopes to be the most deserved love letter a long standing and endlessly devoted customer could write. There aren't enough stars available.
My relationship with First Class Moving and Storage goes back decades. With No other connection to anyone at the company other than being the world's most grateful client to have found them. I have used them for multiple moves, complicated divisions between multiple locations and storage in the same moves and even a no notice emergency move for ill family members. I have been present for some and absent but left color coded notes with tips and beverages for them for others. Every time has been flawless and a deep sigh of relief. The crews are wizards at combining efficiency and speed with the most careful packing, wrapping, carrying and moving of anything from big furniture to more fragile, small or antique pieces. They are polite, friendly (such great people!) and we really don't realize how amazing moving can be until it is done exceptionally well. When my things have come out of their clean and climate controlled storage, a year plus later, they are all as good as when they went in. I have never had even a hint of a disappointment or any problem whatsoever with any of their services. They continually exceeded my expectations even after I got use to their flawless service.
I am privileged to say I have built a relationship (beloved and trust kind- no compensation or financial benefit) with them and if this doesn't tell you how great a company it is, the staff is the same, decades later. Heidy at the helm of coordinating everything is a human unmatched. She is truly an angel and makes dealing with these stressful tasks an actual joy. No joke. She is an exceptional person in what she does and how she does it.
I don't remember the year of my first move with them- best guess is early 2000's. I've used them at least a half dozen times personally (often with the same crew) and referred more people than I can count. Not one friend or referral I have sent their way has ever had less than the BEST experience. I now live far away and had to call and consult on some odd moving questions for a few things back in Chicago. Heidy dazzled me as much as ever. And helped me above and beyond.
Look, it's moving, it's stressful and overwhelming physically. We hire people bc most of us can't fathom doing it ourselves. It's often expensive and involves transporting all of our personal possessions. This is not the time to find the cheapest quote or not care who gets it done and how it gets done. I've heard horror stories from friends who used various other movers. First Class is more than worth their services in gold and they all work to make it the least stressful and most positive experience it can be. Be good to the crews, tip and pat yourself on the back for finding the best movers you could find! They are worth every dime and then some.

Used First Class for a 95 mile move from Deerfield to Roscoe IL and two night on-the-truck storage. Can't say enough good things about the entire process from getting an in-person quote to the foreman -Jonnie and his team! They were careful, worked like dogs, protecting all flooring and carpets to wrapping all furniture, even my grill and patio set. Move Out and Move in went smoothly as they communicated very well every step of the way and took great care of our belongings. They even helped me add felt pads to the bottom of all furniture on Move In day. A few of our things did not have them and the new floors needed protection. Hire First Class with CONFIDENCE!

First Class Moving and Storage lived up to their name. Working with Ronan and Heidi in the office was a joy. I could tell I was in knowledgeable hands, and this reduced my anxiety about the big move of my Mom's furniture to various locations. The team that came to move the furnishings was professional, organized, hardworking, and just generally helpful and thoughtful. With your help we made an apartment into a home for a refugee family, and we helped formerly homeless older folks live with dignity. Thank you!
